Gluten-free menus have become more common and that is awesome! Let's celebrate that! But there is something that often gets misunderstood: A Gluten-free menu is not always an allergy safe menu. Many Gluten-Free menu items can still contain any or all of the other Top 9 Major Food Allergens. Gluten-free menus often only highlight ingredients that contain gluten. Other allergens might not be listed at all, because they’re not the focus. Many times, nut flours are substitutes for wheat. Be sure to communicate with restaurants and ask questions.
